Amie REALLY loves Gatsby!
Following our fab Panto in December, we have already moved directly on to rehearsals for our next production, The Great Gatsby.
Amie Bailey, fresh from playing Maid Marion in our Panto is directing this production, and we discovered last week how much she really LOVES the book. Not only does Amie have a large selection of copies of the book (see the picture), but she has adapted the famous novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald for the KLP stage.
Our first rehearsal was spent reading through the script and having a character discussion – complete with specially selected music, to really get into the mood of the piece.
Amie has brought the undisputed jewel of American literature to life, putting the glamourous façade of the Prohibition era into the spotlight, as well as the broken dreams it stood upon.
