Abigail’s Party Cast Blog 1
So we have now all settled into rehearsals for Abigails Party and the first dilemmas are settling in. Characters are forming, lines are being learned but we have encountered a couple of dilemmas for the cast on stage – eating and smoking. We’ve all had to eat and drink on stage – indeed for our last production ‘Taming of the Shrew’ set in a modern day cafe we drank a LOT of pretend champagne, wine, beer and spirits and this show looks like it will follow in the same footsteps. For those of you who know the play, it is the story of a drinks party at the home of Beverley and Laurence with G&T’s flowing freely and cheese and pineapple cocktail snacks handed round throughout the evening. So – dilemma number one – soda water or lemonade? And please Sue on props – fresh cheese and pineapple every night.
Now he second dilemma is a tricky one. The play is set in the 1970s and all the cast smoke, however only one of the cast is a smoker. We have applied for a smoking licence but are deliberating what to do about the cigarettes. Real cigarettes? Herbal? E-gigarettes or stage props. I think we are going to have to try a few to see which is the least offensive to us sensitive non-smokers and which look most effective on stage. I, particularly am not looking forward to the prospect of a smoke file stage, so if any you have any ideas – do let us know!

I’ve been surfing online more than 4 hours today, yet I never found
any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for
me. In my view, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be much more
useful than ever before. http://bing.co.uk
