Announcing our next show!
After a long, long break, we are delighted to finally have some exciting news about the first show of our new season!
This December we are thrilled to announce that we will be presenting a full length musical version of The Wizard of Oz. Those of you who have known us for a while may remember that we first travelled down the yellow brick road to Oz in 1979, followed by another trip over the rainbow in 1996.
Director, Andrew Knight who starred as the Tin Man in our 1996 production is really looking forward to bringing all the fun and fantasy of the film to the Kings Langley stage. “All the original characters are there, with some additional ones as well. The script is based more on L Frank Baum’s book as opposed to the MGM classic. All the famous musical numbers are there, with a couple of additional ones. There are different elements in this version, but the magic and fantasy is still there with all the songs we know and love.”
We will be holding auditions as soon as we are able to according to the latest government guidelines. All are welcome to join us, and full details of the times and location of the auditions will be shared soon on the web-site and via our mailing list.
Show dates will be the 8th – 11th December 2021 and tickets will be on sale from August, so do add your name to the mailing list if you want to be the first to hear the news!
